Doing What I Love + Blog Tour

At the beginning of this year, I began to expand my blogging wings and one thing I did was reach out to online communities.  I didn’t know what to expect, and I never dreamed that I would make internet friends, but I have.  Good ones.  Fun ones. And most of all helpful ones.  Sarah at Parenting Your Business is one of my e-friends from my Outliners Tribe, who I’ve enjoyed getting to know, and she invited me to participate in a blog tour, so here I am.  To participate, I need to answer some questions about myself and then introduce you to new bloggers.

All Beautiful

1. What am I working on?
We moved into a new house a couple of weeks ago, so in my personal life, I’m trying to decorate, unpack and take care of the daily responsibilities.  As a mommy, I’m usually feeding, hugging or breaking up fights on an hourly basis.  As a wedding photographer, I’m doing my best to stay on top of editing and delivering all my brides beautiful images.  Then, there’s my beloved The Wounded Dove blog.  This is what my heart loves to do and makes me so alive.  So, basically, I feel like I have 200 things going on at any given moment, but I’m focused on staying connected with Love through daily quiet times and constant refocus of my mind toward Him throughout the day, so I never feel overwhelmed or like it’s too much to do, and the second I feel like it is, I drop everything and get my mind and heart back on track.

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
Even though I am a semi-mommy blogger, I differ in that I believe my bigger goal is to share my story, share what I have learned about Love and his delight in me, and to encourage other women to discover just how much their creator delights in them, just where they are, in the mess and imperfect.  I don’t know what it’s going to look like or where it’s going to go.  I’m just enjoying the daily blogging journey, and trying not to take myself too seriously.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I do what I do, because for the first time in my life, I’ve found something that I love and that I am passionate about.  You know that old saying, “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life”.  Yep, that’s exactly how I feel about writing and blogging.

 4. How does your writing/creating process work?
Currently, my writing and creating process is only when I’m inspired.  Every morning I make sure to have my quiet time outside on my deck.  It’s not always easy with four little ones, and most mornings I have constant company, but even those noisy quiet times do wonders for my spirit and creative process.  I haven’t accomplished a calendar or a set schedule of posts, but I do keep a journal and a list of different topics to write about in my phone.  I do post my #GoodEnoughMom link-up every Tuesday, but other than that, I write once a week on whatever inspires me.

Meet New Bloggers
Next Sunday, these awesome bloggers will be continuing  the blog tour, but feel free to check out their blogs in the meantime.

Jessica Thornton lives and loves in Clinton, Mississippi. She blogs at Meet the Magnolias about anything her southern heart desires. She is a wife, sister, daughter, and friend and takes each of her roles super seriously.

{And we got to meet in real life.  How cool is that!}

Sarah blogs at Sara Gail, and is a lover of Jesus, grace, coffee, college students and UK sports. She writes to tell a story of what she have seen and heard through Christ’s redemptive work in her own life and offer freedom and grace to those who are where she has been.
Kelsey blogs over at Kandidly Kelsey. In a nutshell, you know Kelsey if you know that her blood is made from coffee, adventure and travel keep her heart pumping, books are one of her greatest pleasures in life, she’s somehow become a crowd-loving introvert, and Harry Potter is the fastest way to her heart. Oh, and she kind of loves to write.

Hope you enjoy this blog tour.  Let me know what you’ve been working on lately.  Are you doing what you love?
